How Same-Day Teeth
Actually Work
Traditional implant protocols require 3–6 months between implant placement and attaching the crown or prosthesis — waiting for the bone to fully fuse with the titanium (osseointegration). Immediate loading protocols break this rule — by placing the crown or prosthesis on the same day as the implant.
This is possible when a specific clinical threshold is met: high primary stability of the implant in bone, measured by insertion torque. When the implant is sufficiently stable at placement, a carefully designed temporary prosthesis can be loaded immediately — with controlled bite forces — without compromising osseointegration.
CBCT 3D planning is essential. Pre-surgical bone mapping ensures implants are placed in positions that guarantee the primary stability required for immediate loading. Without 3D planning, immediate loading is a gamble. With it, it is a precise, predictable protocol.
Important Note
The immediate-day teeth are carefully designed with reduced bite contact — protecting the integrating implants. The final prosthesis is placed at 3–6 months, once full osseointegration is confirmed. Both phases are planned from the start.
