Dental Implants

Dental implants form the base on which removable or permanent replacement teeth are made upon, to look like exactly like natural teeth. They are made from bio-neutral titanium alloys, or pure titanium, which is acceptable to the body. These strong implants fuse perfectly into the jawbone, and form a firm foundation for the replacement tooth.

Types of Dental implants

At our dental clinic in Pune, two basic implants are available. In some cases, post implants quick loading of bridges and crowns, known as immediate loaded implants, is done.

1) Conventional Implants

  • Conventional implants can be used on anyone looking for a permanent restoration solution for one, multiple, or all their missing teeth.
  • They are done in two stages in just two trips, usually about three to six months apart.
  • They can be done on most bone conditions. In rare cases, where there’s moderate to severe jawbone depletion, bone grafting will be suggested before dental implantation.

2) Immediate Implants

  • These implants are known as same day or one day implants.
  • Dental implants are placed the right after the teeth are removed. Depending on the implants, bridge, dentures, or crowns might or might not be used.
  • Only patients with strong jawbones are given immediate implants.

3) Immediate Loaded Implants

  • These are implants post which, temporary or permanent bridges, dentures or crowns are placed in the same treatment session.
  • This is usually after conventional or immediate implants.
  • Good jawbone condition is a prerequisite for immediate loaded implants.

Dental implants selected will be according to the patients' dental condition and specific needs. A complete panoramic x-ray and/or CT scan is needed to exactly know the amount of bone repair to be done, the space available for procedure and thorough diagnosing, to know the best options suited for a particular case.

Types of Dental Implants used for Restoration::

1)Single Missing Tooth

There three parts for restoration by single tooth implant - implant post, the abutment and prosthetic crown. The crown may be screwed in place or cemented into the abutment. This is the best kind of permanent restoration.

2)Multiple Missing Teeth

When many teeth are missing in different sections of the mouth, many single tooth implants will be needed. If many teeth are lost in the same section, the restoration can be done with fewer dental implants through bridges.

3)All Teeth Missing

We only suggested complete arch implant reconstructions as opposed to removable dentures as we strongly believe our patients deserve proper fixed teeth and smiles.

All on 4 Teeth, All on 6 Teeth or All on 8 Teeth
